Perverting law and order, these words have been forbidden
The animosity we harbor taken as guilt-ridden admission
Enforcing decrees, stolen keys & burnt degrees
Stifling pleas, we can't resist or appease
Held beaten shackled and gory
Judges wrath and fury
Silenced jury
Who's left to witness the
Executions

One day all our people will be free
We've prayed, bring the opposers to their knees
Untamed, knotted roots of olive trees
It's time for you to know that which you've sown has come to reap

Muffled mics withholding strikes, moguls gag the cameraman
Our history's wiped, they've won the right, gravestone flowers flagged as contraband
Divert and redact, plan of attack to distract
Mobilized to extract, ransack and transact
Who reports our dispossession?
Script' in aggression
No attention
Every accusation
A confession

One day all our people will be free
Fresh graves, no eulogy fit for tv
Outraged, sacred grounds grant no mercy
Can't hide the muted cries or tearstained eyes of those that weep

A blaze at night wields the scythe, ashes fuming paradigm
Consumed by blight, rot, hunger and strife! the Titanomachy of our time!
At Titan's summit, zealots shovel and plummet
Wasted puppets, stuffed gullets they covet
Ceaseless shroud seeps lingers and chokes
Stealing words from our throats
Wrung by the ropes
Voiceless to object to
Strangulation

One day all our people will be free
Disobey, make the occupiers flee
Night wanes, beams of sunlight cross the seas
Just get it through your skull a hollow soul will never sleep

One day all our people will be free
Wounded prey makes for deadly detainees
Split chains, our resurgence unforeseen
This time we're gonna show you can't control what words we speak

We say all our people will be freed
You'll pay, can't hide your sins under debris
Keen gaze toward certain victory
It's time for you to go this is our home we won't retreat

Every sentence left unwritten has now been forbidden
This time we're gonna show you can't control what words we speak
Your ledger's so crime ridden you'll never be forgiven!
It's time for you to go this is our home we won't retreat!

A final time you've been denied for Palestine you cannot keep!

Where else would they go?

I float past, a fragment

humbled by teary eyes

It's all so familiar
but they shouldn't be here,
ragged carpet squeezed between toes,
sense of comfort too nostalgic
A dream, and all dreams end

Down trodden halls
there's a room no longer mine
hidden from the guests,
from the pain
A last refuge of peace

Patiently she lies, she waits
present, assured, alive
Every beauty the world could offer
Every heartbeat yet to be skipped
The Unobtained

Silhouettes of prophecy come between
glimpses of lives desperate to be
but we both know it's too late
too late to be any more or any less
As I am, in her embrace

I lay gently with comfort
Wrapped together in calm
"I want to make it up to you
give you all that you deserve"
This moment is truly enough

For a father without solace provides only with their hands

Isolation, ambivalence, withdrawal, worry, the household norms taught and followed

Encouraged to fret, pride in wariness, revelry only for my passivity

Here's all the ways this could go wrong, all the things that you need get right

Tears spring tears, sadness spreads and multiplies, don't disturb the meager peace

Eyes wetted and begging, pleading not to go, can't make them fear for my safety

Drawn to the worst conclusions, I am made a miscreant, an inebriate, a threat

In urgent strife the guardian cowers, so an orphan, unfamiliar, must rise and steady

Futile admissions and tense confrontations, there's not much left to say

Am I the burden? Am I the source of such distress? Am I such a heavy load to bear?

It's plain to see, things would be easier for everyone...

If I had just never been broke from that mold

embers angry and desperate
to catch the palms of a brother,
palms dark and ashen
from the squandered wishes
of the dead.
The black hand pounds against the door
of those that struck the steel,
searing eager in red heat
to unleash its brimstone due.
One round for each of them,
both shot dead.

Two sons laid to rest,
taken by the hands of hell
as repayment for a candle
snuffed out too soon.
Hardened hearts devolve,
this means war.
A father follows down that path
to a house in mourning,
candlelight flickers yet in the sill
his eyes perceive only black shadows.
Two loaded in each hand,
this is war.

Three seats at table emptied,
a home now dark and weary
as the hearth bears warmth no more.
Mothers forsaken pleas
turn melting wax to pouring tears,
It must end.
Back and forth, over and over
blind furies suffocate all the Earth.
One flame smothered for the grieving,
Two burnt out for the dead,
Three blazes choked and defeated,
Ashen misery alone in the end.

Soft tones and mellow melodies.
Steady waves on gentle waters,
Bird's final songs drifting,
Silent bushes chirp and hum.
Calming.

Soothing,
Slow breathes and tender stretches,
Relieved by nighttime air.
Yawns overpowering,
Everything else slowly beginning
to be tuned out.
A rest,
At peace.
For rejuvenation,
In preparation.

Dreams, and dreams, and dreams.
Old dreams, fragments of memories.
Gifts of ancestors brought,
Presence passed yet lingers
Reborn anew.
Alive.

A life.
Living being,
Child of Earth.
Mothers care,
Mothers love.
Love.

Loved,
Embraced,
Sprouting new seeds.
Drums and songs,
Fire light and cozy stories.
Grass blades between fingers,
Soft ground,
Soft skin.
Hands together
Hands held tight.

Dreams, and dreams, and dreams.
New dreams, lighting sparks of hope.
Full worlds etched and enriched,
Achievements yet to be gained.
Enchanted fantasies.
Beyond.

Our universe
A vast home.
Methodically woven
All together,
A slow dance through time and space.
In harmony.

Harmonious,
Under stars,
Nothing else matters.
Slow breathes under the Moon.
She's shining,
Ever watching,
Proud.
Proud to guide,
To give,
To be.
To drift
And gift
And hope
With us forever.

What It Means To Miss You

Reach out, still grabbing at faint dust.

Daniel

Text within this block will maintain its original spacing when published
Reach out,

Resplendent halls left hollow beyond Earth
While golden gates sit welcoming no one,
The angel’s perches rot away in dearth,
Our Father’s throne glares blankly with the sun.

Abandoned servants cling to what remains;
The bored Almighty forge new sets of chains.
